I was approached to help design a cover up for an old yin yang tattoo on a client last week. It was my first true cover up, and  I  was pretty stressed about it. But when the tattoo was finally finished, I was pretty happy about the outcome.

The ghost deer...

It was a cool November morning, and I was wondering through the woods. The leaves wore dark red and sepia hues and I could smell the cold in the air. But really my mind was totally focused on how much I wish I had packed a piece of bubble gum.. I really wanted a piece of bubble gum. Suddenly I heard a snap directly behind me. I turned to see the large hulking mass of a deer’s ghost. It stood silent and stiff. A very low audible sound whispered through its lips. The large black eyes slowly closed, and reopened. When cats did this. They are telling you they trust you. But I don’t think the deer doing it meant that. That’s when I chuckled. I realized what was going on.” Sorry deer. Your not the ghost.. I am.” I waved to my living friend, and turned back to my walk in the forest.

Two recent paintings. The owls were painted for a client. The gypsy head  was a test at using my painting techniques on a wood panel... I think it turned out pretty interesting.

large eagle and skull tattoo design painting, and painting influenced by Murder by Deaths song "It's a hard world."

I came up with this design while listening to Murder by Deaths song "It's a hard world." It's a great song, and narrates a strong visual presence. I just decided to try and illustrate what the song was saying.

A new painting I've recently finished. It's pretty damn large. I always like doing bigger pieces, they allow me to try to pack as much detail as I can into it.
